Yes, if you chose to stay practicing at Newport Aikido after your taster session. You will need to obtain a yearly membership and insurance through the Kai Shin Kai website.

What days/times are there training sessions? 

Currently we hold training sessions Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5pm to 6.30pm).

Is there a fee to attend sessions? 

Yes there is a fee to attend Newport Aikido sessions; this is to cover the cost of the room and equipment.

The current fee is £3 per session*. 

* which may increase due to cost rise but this will be discussed in advance with students 

Do I need to buy a Gi or equipment?

Yes, in Newport Aikido our new students are expected to wear a white Gi and white belt.

Eventually students will require Jo, Bokken and Tanto; but this can be discussed with the student to ensure they meet our requirements. 

I have a disability, Can I attend Newport Aikido? 

At Newport Aikido we can and make every effort to accommodate various disabilities needs.
